Ulcinj

Town in Montenegro, on the Adriatic Sea, southeast of Dubrovnik; population (2001 est) 58,400. Ulcinj is a market centre for fruit and other agricultural produce. The town is enclosed by forests and hills and has Roman walls and a medieval castle. There are fine beaches and mineral springs.

Ulcinj was under Turkish rule until 1880.
