Dulles, Allen Welsh (1893-1969)

US lawyer, director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) 1953-61. He helped found the CIA in 1950. He was embroiled in the Bay of Pigs, Cuba, controversial invasion attempt, among others, which forced his resignation. He was the brother of John Foster Dulles.
