Dumbarton Oaks

18th-century mansion in Washington, DC, USA, used for conferences and seminars. It was the scene of a conference held in 1944 that led to the foundation of the United Nations.

Dumbarton Oaks

Concerto in E flat for chamber orchestra by Igor Stravinsky, composed 1937–38 and first performed in Washington, DC, at Dumbarton Oaks, the private estate of R W Bliss, on 8 May 1938. The first public performance was given in Paris, France, on 4 June 1938.
