Dumont

Town in Bergen County, northeast New Jersey; population (1990) 17,200. It is situated 6 km/4 mi northeast of Hackensack. Settled by the Dutch in the late 17th century, it is a largely residential New York City suburb, with some office buildings and light industry.

We were close to Vanikoro, really the one to which Dumont d'Urville gave the name of Isle de la Recherche, and exactly facing the little harbour of Vanou, situated in 16@ 4' S.
It is even possible that the Selenites have already planted the flag on one of their poles, while Franklin, Ross, Kane, Dumont, d'Urville, and Lambert have never yet been able to attain that unknown point of the terrestrial globe.
