Dunbar, Helen Flanders

Dunbar, Helen Flanders (1902–1959)

US psychoanalyst. An academic at Columbia University, she made major contributions to psychosomatic theory and holistic medicine and was an instructor at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. She wrote four books, including Psychiatry in the Medical Specialties (1959).

She was born in Chicago and graduated with an MD from Yale University.
