Duncanson, Robert Scott (c. 1817–c. 1872)

US painter. He was based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is considered the first internationally acclaimed black American artist. Blue Hole, Flood Waters, Little Miami River (1851) is a luminous landscape that shows how talented he was.

He was born in Seneca County, New York.
