Dunlop, Ronald Ossary (1894-1973)

Irish painter, born in Dublin. Dunlop was a member of the ‘London Group’, and his works were characterized by his use of glowing colour and his technique of using a palette knife to apply paint to the canvas in a thick impasto.

Dunlop's work is represented in the Tate Gallery, London, as well as several provincial galleries. His writings on art include Landscape Painting 1954 and the autobiographical Struggling with Paint 1956.
