Great Dunmow

Market town in Essex, England, on the River Chelmer, 20 km/12 mi north of Chelmsford; population (2001) 7,000. Great Dunmow is thought to be the site of the Roman station of Caesaromagnus. There is a bacon factory here.

The parish church (13th-15th century) is unusual in having a gallery in the south aisle. The town hall was built in 1578 and enlarged in 1855.
