Dunn, L(eslie) C(larence) (1893-1974)

US geneticist. His research on chromosomal changes in mouse embryos gave rise to studies of the effects of recombination and lethal genes. In his books on human population genetics, he expresses his belief that race is merely one state in human evolution.

Born in Buffalo, New York, he worked at the Agricultural Experiment Station, Storrs, Connecticut, and continued to serve there as a consultant after moving to Columbia University.
