Dunsborough

Coastal town in the southwest of Western Australia, 255 km/158 mi south of Perth; population (1996) 1,200. Located on the sheltered Geographe Bay, Dunsborough emerged in the 1870s as a small fishing community. Since World War II the town has become a tourist resort and popular centre for retirees and weekend retreats. Industries include fishing, arts and crafts, wine production, and cattle, dairy, and sheep farming.
