Dunstable| Town in Middlesex County, northeast Massachusetts; population (1998 est) 2,700. It is located 13 km/8 mi west-northwest of Lowell, on the New Hampshire border. It was incorporated in 1673 as part of a block of land that was later split into 15 settlements. |
| The town is named in honour of Mrs Edward Tyng, an early settler from Dunstable, England, whose family bought land here from native Americans in 1611. |
