In the Roman Republic, a magistracy of two men.

The duoviri sacrorum were the two men to whom was entrusted the charge of the Sibylline books (Sibyl); they were eventually superseded by decemviri; duoviri navales were specially elected to equip and recruit the navy; duoviri jure dicundo were men with the highest judiciary powers in municipal towns; duoviri aedi locandae were elected for the purpose of dedicating a temple; duoviri perduellionis in early times tried those accused of treason.
