Durón, Sebastián

Durón, Sebastián (1660–1716)

Spanish composer, an early exponent of Spanish opera. He was organist at Seville Cathedral 1680–85. In 1691 he became organist at the court of Madrid and was appointed maestro de capilla in 1702.

Not having supported the Bourbon succession, he seems to have gone into exile in 1706.
