Dushkin, Samuel (1891–1976)

Polish-born American violinist. He studied in Paris and with Auer and Kreisler in New York. He went on a European tour in 1918, and made his US debut in 1924. He advised Stravinsky on the composition of his violin concerto, and gave its first performance in Berlin on 23 October 1931. He gave Stravinsky's Duo Concertant with Stravinsky in Berlin on 28 October 1932.
