Duval, François (c. 1673-1728)

French violinist and composer. He was a member of Louis XIV's ‘24 violons du roi’. His violin sonatas are written in the Italian style and were published as the first of their kind in 1704. He wrote numerous books of sonatas for violin and bass and two violins and bass.
