Duvivier, Julien Henri Nicolas (1896–1967)

French film director and screenwriter. He was one of the leading European directors of early sound films. His work includes the French dramas La Belle Equipe/They Were Five (1936), Un Carnet de bal/Christine (1937), La Fin du jour/The End of a Day (1938), as well as several Hollywood films, including Tales of Manhattan (1942).
