Dwiggins, William Addison (1880–1956)

US book designer. He designed some of the finest books of his time, especially for Alfred Knopf. His analysis of typefaces in Layout in Advertising (1928) was a classic. He designed many distinctive typefaces for the Mergenthaler Linotype Company.
