Eaglen, Jane (1960– )

English soprano. She studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and made her debut with the English National Opera Ensemble in 1984, as Lady Ella in Patience. She returned as Eva (1989) and Tosca (1990), as Leonora in Trovatore, and as Donna Elvira and Santuzza. She first appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in 1986, and sang Rossini's Mathilde there in 1992. She has made appearances as Donna Anna and Fiordiligi for the Scottish Opera, and as Verdi's Odabella in Geneva. In 1994 she sang at La Scala, Milan, as Brünnhilde in Die Walküre, and as Eglantine in Euryanthe at the QEH, London.
