Eamon (1984– )

US R&B singer. He is best known for his controversial debut single ‘F∗∗∗ It (I Don't Want You Back)’, which combined profane lyrics with a catchy melody and became an international hit when it was released in 2003. He released his debut album, I Don't Want You Back, the following year.

‘F∗∗∗ It’ reached the Billboard top twenty in the USA, the first profane-titled single to do so, and reached number one on the charts in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden. A popular video soon followed. The album I Don't Want You Back reached the US top ten upon its release.

Eamon was born and grew up in Staten Island, New York, and was singing in front of an audience by the age of nine. His father was a member of a doo-wop group, and this genre inspired Eamon's unique style of R&B. By the age of 15, Eamon had attracted the attention of R&B producer and rapper Milk Dee, who had collaborated with the likes of Janet Jackson and Mary J Blige. Dee guest-rapped on two tracks of Eamon's album.
