Earle, Pliny (1809-1892)

US doctor and psychiatrist. He wrote extensively on current practices in mental institutions in Europe and the USA, and headed institutions in Frankford, Pennsylvania and New York City. He was a cofounder of the American Medical Association.

He was born in Leicester, Massachusetts.
