Earls, Felton James (1942– )

US psychiatrist. He designed and directed studies to determine how violent behaviour in children is produced. He also investigated mental health in children of alcoholic parents, and risk factors for violence and HIV infection in adolescents.

He was born in New Orleans. His investigations into violent behaviour in children were conducted at the Judge Baker Children's Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
