East, Thomas (c. 1535–1608)

English publisher and the first major music printer in England. He worked in London and brought out several works by Byrd and the Elizabethan madrigalists; other publications include Musica Transalpina (1588, 1597), The Whole Book of Psalmes (1592) and The Triumphs of Oriana (1601).
