East Cleveland

Town in Cuyahoga County, northeast Ohio; population (1990) 33,100. It is a residential suburb of Cleveland, which it adjoins. Local manufactures include machine tools, trucks, and electrical parts, and there are electrical research laboratories here. Founded in 1801, East Cleveland is the site of the Warner-Swasey Observatory of Case Western Reserve University. A noted public recreational area, Forest Hill Park, was once the site of John D Rockefeller's summer estate.
