East Hampton

Town in Suffolk County, southeast New York; population (1990) 16,100. It is located 32 km/20 mi southwest of Montauk Point, on Long Island's South Fork. It is a chic summer resort for affluent New Yorkers, attracting writers, artists, and other celebrities.
