East Rutherford

Town in Bergen County, northeast New Jersey; population (1990) 7,900. It is located to the northeast of Rutherford, in the Hackensack River meadows. An industrial borough long engaged in producing textiles, chemicals, and medical products, it is now known as the site of the Meadowlands sports and entertainment complex.
