East Windsor

Town in Hartford County, north-central Connecticut; population (1990) 10,100. It is situated on the Connecticut and Scantic rivers, 16 km/10 mi north-northeast of Hartford, in the Tobacco Valley. Largely residential, it includes the communities of Scantic, Warehouse Point, Windsorville, and Broad Brook. Jonathan Edwards, whose preaching sparked the Great Awakening of the 1730s, was born here in 1703.

East Windsor

Town in Mercer County, west-central New Jersey; population (1990) 22,400. It is located 26 km/16 mi southwest of New Brunswick. Historically an agricultural community, it is gradually transforming into a residential suburb, with corporate office development.
