East York

Town in the Toronto Metropolitan Municipality, south Ontario, Canada; population (1991) 102,700. It is situated on the Don River, and is bordered by Toronto to the south and west, North York to the north, and Scarborough to the east. It is largely residential, with industrial zones along its north boundaries, especially in Leaside to the northwest, and parks along the Don and its tributaries.
