Eastern Shore

Region in Maryland. It is situated to the east of Chesapeake Bay, on the west shore of the Delmarva Peninsula. Largely agricultural and maritime, it has long been regarded, and has regarded itself, as socially and culturally distinct from the rest of the state, which is known as the ‘Western Shore’.

Eastern Shore

Region in Nova Scotia, Canada, on the Atlantic coast, which extends from Halifax eastward to the tip of Cape Breton Island.

Eastern Shore

Region in Virginia, comprising the lightly populated Accomack and Northampton counties. This is a southern extension of the Maryland's Eastern Shore; the Virginia section is about 100 km/60 mi in length from north-northeast–south-southwest. Onancock and Cape Charles are its largest communities.
