Eau Claire

City and administrative headquarters of Eau Claire County, west-central Wisconsin, USA, 120 km/74 mi east of St Paul, Minnesota, at the junction of the Chippewa and Eau Claire rivers; population (2000) 61,700. It is a processing and marketing centre for the region's dairy farmers; industries include rubber and paper products, machine parts, electronics, printing, and brewing. Tourism is also important to the local economy. The city is home to the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire (1916).

Eau Claire was settled as a logging town in 1844, and incorporated as a city in 1872.

He began his career with the Wisconsin Dept of Agriculture, was named farm broadcaster for WEAU Radio and TV, Eau Claire, WL and became the last farm broadcaster on KDKA, Pittsburgh, PA.
Since I do a lot of my reading for review in public places like cafes here in Eau Claire Wisconsin I find folks who know I am the Midwest Book Reviews literary editor like to read over my shoulder and ask me questions about what I am reviewing this month.
