Ecclesfield

Town in South Yorkshire, England, on the northern outskirts of the city of Sheffield; population (2001) 31,600. The area is principally industrial, with steelworks and chemical plants. Several coal seams were once worked here.

The parish church of Ecclesfield is in the Perpendicular Gothic style, incorporating parts of two earlier buildings, and was erected between 1377 and 1546.
