Edelmann, Johann Friedrich (1749-1794)

Alsatian pianist and composer. He became famous in Paris through the patronage of his pupil, Baron Dietrich. He was a friend of Gluck, and Mozart thought well of his piano compositions. He apparently played a discreditable part during the French Revolution, and died on the guillotine.
