Eden, Garden of

In the Old Testament book of Genesis and in the Koran, the ‘garden’ in which Adam and Eve lived after their creation, and from which they were expelled for disobedience.

Its location has often been identified with the Fertile Crescent in Mesopotamia (now in Iraq) and two of its rivers with the Euphrates and the Tigris.
