Edes, Benjamin

Edes, Benjamin (1732–1803)

American journalist. He cofounded the pro-Patriot newspaper, Boston Gazette and Country Journal in 1775. It declined after the American Revolution and shut down in 1789.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was involved in the planning of the Boston Tea Party.
