Edge, Rosalie

Edge, (Mabel) Rosalie (1877–1962)

US reformer and conservationist. After women were given the vote in 1920, she turned her attention form women's suffrage to conservation. She was the crusading leader of the Emergency Conservation Committee 1929–59.

She was born in New York City. She successfully lobbied for the creation of the King's Canyon and Olympic National Parks, as well as for the establishment of the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary for birds of prey in Pennsylvania.
