Edina

Town in Hennepin County, southeast Minnesota; population (1990) 46,100. It located 13 km/8 mi southwest of Minneapolis. It was mainly an upper-income residential suburb until the 1970s, when commercial development boomed. Southdale, the world's first fully enclosed shopping mall, opened here in 1956.
