Edsall, David Linn

Edsall, David Linn (1869–1945)

US doctor and educator. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania, was dean of Harvard Medical School, and dean of the Harvard School of Public Health. He concentrated on causes of disease such as inadequate nutrition, metabolic failures, and occupational conditions.

He was born in Hamburg, New Jersey and took his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He was at the vanguard of those wanting to reform medical education.
