Egham

Town in Surrey, England, on the River Thames 12 km/7 mi outside Greater London; population (2001) 6,300. Royal Holloway College, part of the University of London, is located here. Nearby is Runnymede, where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215.

Remains of the earliest known river harbour in Britain, dating from the 8th century BC, have been found at Egham.
