About one in 20,000 people have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), the genetic (inherited) disease that makes Turner's skin so pliable.
Ehlers-Danlos syndrome--The problems present in Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), a group of approximately 10 disorders, include changes in the physical properties of skin, joints, blood vessels, and other tissues such as ligaments and tendons.
Studies, however, that specifically exclude individuals with Marfan or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (as specified in the diagnosis[17,26]) typically do not show morphological differences.
