Eimert, Herbert (1897–1972)

German composer and critic. In 1951 he founded an electronic studio at the Cologne branch of West German Radio. He wrote extensively on modern music.

He studied music and musicology at Cologne Conservatory and University 1927–1933. He worked for German radio and edited the Kölnische Zeitung 1936–45 and from 1955 edited Die Reihe.

Works

Glockenspiel (1953); Etüden über Tongemische; Requiem für Aikichi Kuboyama (1962); choral and chamber music and electronic pieces.
