Einthoven, Willem (1860–1927)

Dutch physiologist who was awarded a Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1924 for his invention of the electrocardiograph. He demonstrated that certain disorders of the heart alter its electrical activity in characteristic ways.
