Eisinger, Irene (1903-1994)

German soprano. She studied in Vienna and made her debut in Basel, in 1926. She later joined Klemperer at the Kroll Opera, Berlin, and was successful as Susanna (1931); she sang at Prague 1933-37 and from 1934 was a leading performer at Glyndebourne until 1940, playing Despina, Papagena, Blondchen, Susanna, and Polly Peachum. Despina in 1949.
