Misti

Snow-capped volcano, long dormant, which dominates the city of Arequipa, in the southern Peruvian Andes; height 5,821 m/19,098 ft. Misti is flanked by the Chachani volcano to the northwest (height 6,096 m/20,000 ft) and Pichu Pichu to the southeast (height 5,669 m/18,599 ft). An observatory has been established by Harvard University near its summit.
