capacitor

Device for storing electric charge, used in electronic circuits; it consists of two or more metal plates separated by an insulating layer called a dielectric (see capacitance).

Its capacitance is the ratio of the charge stored on either plate to the potential difference between the plates.

This update of a cohort mortality study among workers exposed to PCBs in an electrical capacitor manufacturing plant in Indiana was undertaken because the carcinogenicity of PCBs in humans is unresolved, and because on initial follow-up, both potential latency and statistical power were limited.
PCB-containing electrical capacitors are currently being processed in two sequencing batch vaporizers.
