Electronic Book Exchange

Standard for copyright protection for electronic books, based on the World Intellectual Property Organization copyright treaty. The driving force behind EBX is Glassbook, a US electronic book software company bought by Adobe in 2000. Members and associates of the group include Adobe, HarperCollins, Houghton Mifflin, Microsoft, and Philips Electronics. By 2002, the EBX had been incorporated into the Open eBook Forum.

The Open eBook Forum (OeBF) Board of Directors and the Electronic Book Exchange (EBX) Working Group Executive Committee announced the completion of EBX merging into the Open eBook Forum during the Annual Meeting of OeBF members on March 19, in Paris, France.
Reciprocal Publishing is a member of both the Open eBook Initiative and the EBX(TM) Electronic Book Exchange, two bodies developing common standards for electronic books.
