Just three days after being jailed, Paris Hilton was sent home Thursday to spend 40 days wearing an electronic bracelet at her Hollywood Hills mansion, sparking widespread criticism of Sheriff Lee Baca and allegations of special treatment of the rich and famous. Sex offenders on probation would wear electronic bracelets that could track their movements every time they left their homes, according to DuPage County officials. The Petition further alleges that on September 28, 2004, Norton was sentenced to 30 days' home detention on each count to be served concurrently including wearing an electronic bracelet, two years' probation, a $5,000 fine, and alcohol aftercare treatment at the discretion of the probation officer. |
