| Huang and his Pittsburgh colleague Feng Liu recently modified the electroporation process so that a metal syringe can double as the electrode. Intramuscular delivery of DNA vaccines using Inovio's proprietary electroporation technology has been shown in primate studies to boost the immune response by orders of magnitude over DNA plasmid alone. By redesigning the environment in which electroporation occurs, he's been able to drop the current to one-thousandth of what had previously been needed. |
