Elektra

Opera by Richard Strauss (libretto by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, a much modernized reinterpretation of Sophocles), first produced at the Royal Opera House in Dresden, Germany, on 25 January 1909. In the story, Clytemnestra kills the father of Elektra and Orestes, who decide to take revenge.
