Ellwangen

Town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on the River Jagst, 70 km/43 mi northeast of Stuttgart; population (1994) 28,800. Batteries are manufactured here. The town has a 12th-century Romanesque church with three towers, and on a hill overlooking the town is a medieval castle.
