Els, Ernie (1969- )| South African golfer who won the British Open in 2002, the US Open in 1994 and 1997, and the World Match Play Championship three years in succession, 1994-96. He turned professional in 1989. In 2000 he finished runner-up in three of the year's four major championships. |
