Englewood

Town in Arapahoe County, north-central Colorado; population (1990) 29,400. It is situated on the South Platte River, adjoining the southern boundary of the city of Denver. Largely residential, the town is also a financial and trading centre and a leading carnation grower. Industries produce published materials, steel items, electronic equipment, cellular telephones, and building construction materials.

Resort community in Sarasota and Charlotte counties, southwest Florida; population (1990) 15,000. It is located 45 km/28 mi south-southeast of Sarasota, on Lemon Bay, separated by the barrier island of Manasota Key from the Gulf of Mexico.

Town in Bergen County, northeast New Jersey; population (1990) 24,900. It is located 21 km/13 mi northeast of Jersey City. It was settled by the Dutch in the late 17th century. Primarily a middle-class New York City suburb, it has many relatively new office buildings and various light industries.

Town in Montgomery County, west Ohio; population (1990) 11,400. It is situated on the Stillwater River, 16 km/10 mi northwest of Dayton. Machine tools and farming implements are made in the city. The Englewood Dam was built here in 1922 to improve flood control.
